If you’re just now learning that Snoop Dogg has a food company, join the club. He founded Broadus Foods, which boasts fellow rapper Master P as its CEO. Snoop Loopz cereal joins other breakfast items like grits, syrup, pancake mix, and oatmeal. Those items are part of the Momma Snoop line honoring his mother. In keeping with his other pursuits, we bet they all make for great snacks when you get the munchies.
News of the cereal came to us thanks to Boing Boing. We don’t know much about it other than its bounty of colorful circles that are somehow both multigrain and marshmallow-y. We assume the cute mascot on the box is a dog, or perhaps dogg. Some of the profits from the cereal will go to Door of Hope, a charity addressing homelessness in Los Angeles County.
As for what else Snoop Dogg is up to these days, you can see him in Netflix’s Day Shift as a vampire hunter alongside Jamie Foxx. He’s also often teaming up with Martha Stewart too, in one of the most wholesome and collaborative friendships in the entertainment industry. Having a line of breakfast foods is not really as far off from his persona as it may initially appear. Relatable, family-friendly content like listening to “Let It Go” during lockdown and narrating nature videos on Jimmy Kimmel Live are other standouts.
The already-crowded cereal aisle seems to attract more offerings every week. We’ve seen some interesting twists, like the recent spicy Cinnamon Toast Crunch and a chocolatey cereal that tastes like a Wendy’s Frosty.
