Saturday Night Live UK is taking over across the pond. The sketch series made its debut a couple of months ago and finished its first season in early May. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Saturday Night Live UK is renewed for season two, which will start airing in September 2026 through early 2027. The next season will up the number of episodes from eight to twelve for more sketches and laughs.

“I’m incredibly proud of our team and the show. It keeps getting better every week,” said Lorne Michaels. “I’m grateful to Dana Strong and Sky for believing in and supporting SNL U.K. I’m excited for the season ahead.”
Let’s see what other stars will grace the show’s stage in this second round. Season one had some familiar faces including Ncuti Gatwa, Tina Fey, Riz Ahmed, and more. “It’s fair to say people doubted SNL would work in the U.K., but thanks to Lorne Michaels, his longtime Saturday Night Live producing team and UTAS U.K., alongside our brilliant cast and writers, SNL U.K. is Sky’s most talked about show of the year,” said Phil Edgar-Jones, executive director, unscripted originals at Sky. “It’s now firmly part of the cultural conversation, and we’re thrilled the show will be returning.”
Will SNL UK have the longevity of the flagship US series? We will have to wait 50 more years and see.
