The beauty of an infinite multiverse is that you can, quite literally, go anywhere and do anything. The trouble of an infinite multiverse is that you also have to deal with infinite enemies and dangers. And it seems as though that’s what our favorite grandfather-grandson duo are going to do when they return to Adult Swim. The new Ricky and Morty season eight trailer is full of foes, gun fights, and fury. All of which should make for a very silly season.
“The best high-concept sci-fi rigmarole in the universe is back.” And it’s set to “Tryouts for the Human Race” by Sparks. This new, very fun season eight trailer features plenty of classic Rick and Morty shenanigans. That includes some great Jerry moments. (You know Rick definitely had a good reason for encasing him in crystals.) We also see that Beth and Summer’s new hairstyles will apparently lead to them fighting. This promo also marks the return of one of Rick’s oldest enemies, the Gromflomites. There’s also more of the Space Christians, who we previously met in a sneak peak of season eight. And this season will also bring us some good old fashioned mob justice.
The most exciting tease in this Rick and Morty season eight trailer, though, might be the appearance of other Ricks. The show has a 1000% success rate when it lets us spend time with Rick variants, and this trailer is already offering up some extremely ridiculous versions of the galaxy’s smartest man.
How many of them will survive a possible encounter with Prime Rick? History says the odds are low. Same goes for everyone and everything else Rick fights in this Rick and Morty season eight trailer. But we won’t know for sure who else lives besides Rick and his family until the show returns to Adult Swim. That happens on May 25 at 11 pm.
