Imagine going about your night and doing your job only to end up living a waking nightmare with undead beings trying to kill you. Thankfully, that’s a reality that none of us will ever have to face. It is, however, quite entertaining to watch someone else literally fight for their life in an apocalyptic world. That’s what we see in the new trailer for Zach Cregger’s highly-anticipated Resident Evil film, which starts rather chill and ends with lots of blood.
Bryan (Austin Abrams) is a medical courier who takes on one last delivery for the night to the worst place possible: Raccoon City. Of course, he wants the extra cash and he doesn’t know that this night is going to be incredibly long and fraught. He’s driving in snowy, hazardous conditions and having a tense conversation with a lady when a woman steps into the road suddenly and he hits her.
He goes to a nearby house to seek help and then has to help himself to a gun when someone comes barreling towards the house. Yep, that lady is in fact not dead nor a normal being, and everything spirals from that point. There are creepy folks and a fraught search for bullets and some kind of help, just as you’d expect. Looking for guns/bullets as well as that typewriter are just a couple of nice nods to the video games.

The Resident Evil trailer is pure chaos, and we love to see it. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long to get the full story. Resident Evil hits theaters on September 18, but if you want to know more about it, check out our post about what goes down in the first 18 minutes of this movie.
