One of the few good things about this whole shelter-at-home business is that it’s allowed for us all to revisit several classic films with other fans, albeit in a socially distancedOpens in a new tab sort of a way. There’s nothing quite like watching a movie that’s a warm security blanket during troubled times, especially with other fans. Well, in the tradition of our Clue, Hook, and Monsterverse viewing partiesOpens in a new tab, join us this Friday for a special The Princess BrideOpens in a new tab viewing party. It would be truly inconceivable to miss it! (Sorry, I had to. It’s mandatory).
You can watch The Princess Bride along with the Nerdist team by streaming it on Disney+Opens in a new tab the very same day the film hits the platform. Of course, hopefully many of you have a Blu-ray or DVD of this classic film somewhere in your collection already.

The 1987 classic from director Rob Reiner is easily one of the most quotable movies of all time and features one of the best movie scripts ever writtenOpens in a new tab, in my humble opinion. For the few of you out there who haven’t seen it, The Princess Bride tells the story of a farmhand named Westley (Cary Elwes), who sets forth to rescue his true love, the Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright), from the awful Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon). The description sounds generic, but trust me, the film is anything but.
