Pokémon Cafe Is Serving Up New Dishes Inspired by Charizard, Squirtle, and More

The Pokémon Cafe, the first permanent cafe of its kind in Tokyo, is celebrating its one year anniversary! In honor of the momentous milestone, the cafe is offering exclusive food and drink for a short time. Naturally, all of the Pokémon-inspired drinks and dishes are completely cute and almost too adorable to eat.

This isn’t the first time The Pokémon Cafe has had limited time menu items; you might remember last September when we told you about the Halloween-themed goodies you could find in the creative cafe. This spring’s  anniversary menu ranges from sweet to savory, with icy cold treats and a saucy meat volcano inspired by Charizard (seriously!).

The exclusive menu runs from March 14 to April 26, and features food with delightful names ( translated by SoraNews24) like the aforementioned Charizard Roast Beef Volcano Platter, Bulbasaur Vegetable Burger, and the Cherry Blossom Afro Pikachu Marshmallow Cake. (The cherry blossom afro seems to be a major theme of the anniversary menu and merchandise.)

You’ll also find sweet drinks like Squirtle’s Bubbly Parfait, Mew’s Fluffy Marshmallow Drink, and floats inspired by Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.

The Pokémon Cafe seems sunlit and airy, tucked into the fifth floor of a building in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi district, and should be the perfect destination for any traveling Pokémon fans who are on the hunt for both a pleasant meal and merchandise they can’t find anywhere else.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Tokyo this spring and want to stop by the cafe to taste test this legendary menu, be sure to make a reservation! All seating is by online reservation only, which might seem a little strict, but should prevent the restaurant from being overcrowded and noisy on your visit.

Which of the menu items do you choose? Tell us in the comments.
