Watch A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS’ Peter Claffey Do a Spot-on Stewie Griffin Impression

Peter Claffey is a tall man. That was a big requirement to play the Realm’s most famous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, on HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. But as the show’s first season proved, he didn’t get the part just because of his height. He’s also a tremendous actor. He was certainly everything this Dunk and Egg-obsessed fan hoped he would be. So after seeing him on the show it should be no surprise to anyone, especially me, he’s a big talent. And yet, I promise, you are not prepared for this old video of a young Peter Claffey doing an impression of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy.

Seriously, you think you’re ready for this. You are not. Lyonel Baratheon himself could not overhype this.

TOLD YOU. Seven bloody hells I told you. Still, I realize there was no way to fully expect how incredible it really is. It’s a 100% spot-on impression. Sure, it might be a micro-impression, but that doesn’t matter. Not when it’s this good.

We can thank Reddit user La_Villanelle_ for unearthing this incredible clip. It comes from an interview the (now 29) actor did during his rugby playing days. He was a member of Ireland’s Under-20 team in 2016. Yeah, he was already a big boy then. He could have played Ser Duncan the Tall a decade before he appeared on HBO. And we mean that literally. He could have played Dunk back then if HBO had made the prequel back then, because the character is much younger in George R.R. Martin’s novella. He’s either 16 or 17. (Not even Dunk knows his actual age.)

We’re happy to have him on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms now, though. And we hope to hear him on another show soon. Family Guy will be on TV forever, so there’s plenty of time to get Claffey on the animated hit so he can talk to Stewie Griffin as Stewie. But don’t make us wait. Not with an impression this good.
