Paul Rudd Battles His Clone in LIVING WITH YOURSELF Trailer

Netflix has released the first trailer for Living With Yourself, and while it contains all the Paul Rudd and comedy we hoped for, it also looks darker than we expected. After Rudd’s unhappy Miles visits a spa that promises to make him a better person, a superior clone of himself is unexpectedly born. With neither being sure of how they should proceed, things get violent between the two Miles as they battle for the one life and wife they both want.

Someone should really explain to Miles, the old and the new, that no one would be upset if two Paul Rudds were available to make twice as many TV shows and movies.

No one in the history of entertainment has ever said, “I wish this had less Paul Rudd.” We always want more Paul Rudd in everything, which is why we’ve been so excited for Netflix’s upcoming Living with Yourself, which was first announced over a year ago. He won’t just be in the starring role of the new comedy series, though; he’s pulling double duty. He’ll also be playing his own clone who takes over his original version’s life, and the first look at the series proves two Paul Rudds is everything we’d always hoped it would be.

“The Netflix original series Living with Yourself is an inventive existential comedy that asks: do we really want to be better? Miles (Paul Rudd) is a man struggling in life. When he undergoes a novel spa treatment that promises to make him a better person, he finds he’s been replaced by a new and improved version of himself. As he deals with the unintended consequences of his actions, Miles finds he must fight for his wife Kate (Aisling Bea), his career, and his very identity.”

Created and written by Timothy Greenberg (The Daily Show), and directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (The Battle of the Sexes, Little Miss Sunshine), the eight-episode series will be told from multiple points of view, as Miles deals with a superior version of himself taking over his life and family. All episodes come to Netflix this fall, on October 18.

This sounds like a perfect show for Rudd (and us). Not only does the premise sound silly while offering a chance for some heartfelt moments, something he excels at, there are few actors we ever want to see twice as much of. The only problem will be if we are asked to root for one Miles over the other. How will we ever root against Paul Rudd, even if he is competing with Paul Rudd? We always want more of him in everything, but not even Sophie could choose between Rudds.
