Neil Druckmann Teases More THE LAST OF US Announcements Coming Soon

The news about Neil Druckmann stepping away from The Last of Us TV series as its co-showrunner after season two was shocking, to say the least. The head of Naughty Dog has been very, very involved with the series and a major part of its ongoing success. He finally spoke with Variety and essentially said it was a lot of work to run a show and also lead a gaming company, which makes sense. But, one thing about the interview that really caught our attention is when Neil Druckmann said more than once that there are The Last of Us announcements coming soon.

Druckmann will still have very high level input into The Last of Us season three; however, his focus is more on the gaming side. When asked about future adaptations and expansions, Druckmann replied, “There’s just ongoing conversations around Uncharted, The Last of Us, and now Intergalactic as far as different adaptations or expansions. With The Last of Us, we did a graphic novel, for a while we were working on a movie that didn’t work out, and it became a TV show. And there’s more stuff happening in The Last of Us world that has not been announced.

He made it clear that no other Intergalactic adaptations would be happening until the game was solid. But, what does he mean by The Last of Us announcements? Does he just mean The Last of Us Part 3 game… or are there other game spinoffs in the works as well? Perhaps there is even something else that is coming to the live-action world that he knows about, but cannot speak on at this time. Hmmm.
