Movie? Check. Snacks? Check. Drinks? Uhhh…
Let’s face it: we adult types sometimes just want to unwind with our favorite film, drink in hand, but the usual beer and wine can get tedious. Or maybe we want to host a geeky gathering and serve something a little more fun. So, gracious person that I am, I’ve decided to devote my liquor cabinet (and my liver) to helping you find the perfect pairing.
Kicking things off, we’re taking a stab at action classic, Aliens. I’m sure most have you have seen it, but for the uninitiated, this epic 1986 sci-fi film is the second installment in the Alien franchise. Professional bad-ass, Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), has been awoken from stasis and finds herself quickly on route to a colony planet that has lost contact. Accompanied by a misfit team of Colonial Marines, Ripley knows the Xenomorphs are to blame.
My challenge was to find a fun drink that also wouldn’t make me feel like this:
Influenced by the terror that are alien eggs, I have modified a drink called a Brain Hemorrhage to present to you this recipe. If you don’t relish the idea of a drink based on something that came out of a Xenomorph’s butt, you can just secure that ****, Hudson.
ALIEN EGG SHOT
- 1/2 oz Midori
- 1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
- Top with Bailey’s Irish Cream
This drink is pretty simple to prep. Combine your Midori and Peach Schnapps in a shot glass, leaving a little room at the top. Then pour in Bailey’s Irish Cream until you get a delightfully unsettling curdling effect. If you want to get fancy, you can set it atop a light-up ice cube for dramatic effect.
Though it’s extra gross-looking if you don’t.
This drink is insanely sweet and I recommend trying to get it down in one shot as the Bailey’s helps offset the syrupy ichor of the other ingredients. I also wouldn’t drink too many or else it’s:
