Miyamoto and Aonuma Answer 51 Questions About Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Powered by Geek & Sundry

In just a few weeks, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will kick off a new era for Nintendo as one of the launch titles for the Switch. A new Zelda game is always a major event for fans, the expectations are sky high for this installment. But even though the game is on the verge of release, there’s still a lot we don’t know about Breath of the Wild. Fortunately, gaming icon Shigeru Miyamoto and producer Eiji Aonuma haven’t been shy about answering questions.

During a freewheeling interview with Game Informer‘s Ben Reeves, Miyamoto and Aonuma answered over 50 questions about Breath of the Wild in rapid succession. Because of the language barrier, there may have been some questions that weren’t fully understood. And yet Miyamoto and Aonuma took them all in good humor, and even suggested that Link’s real name is “Link Link,” which would be similar to the way that Mario’s name is Mario Mario. We’re pretty sure they were joking about that, and it did make us laugh.

Among the other tidbits that emerged in the video were the facts that Link can wear green in this game and he will have a wolf companion in addition to his horse. And in one of the more humorous moments of the clip, Reeves tricked into receiving a written plea for a new 2D Metroid game. Hopefully it’s a good sign that Aonuma not only laughed at the joke, he put the Metroid note in his pocket. Aonuma also noted that there are no current plans for a Paper Zelda game, but he also seemed to be open to the idea.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released on March 3.
