If you’re intrigued by the rad and raunchy trailer for their newest show and want to know a bit more about the fabulous collective who put the show together, check out the official description here.

Kat Robichaud’s Misfit Cabaret is a splendiferous variety show centered around magical music with a rotating cast of eccentric performers. From burlesque to drag to circus to magic, you never know what you’re going to see (or what you’re getting yourself into)! For each new Misfit Cabaret, emcee Kat Robichaud writes two original songs keeping with the theme of the evening and plays them with her Darling Misfit band made up of Brendan Getzell, RJ Pal, Tim Baker, and Adam Dragland, as well as a special medley to kick off the evening and welcome in the spirits of San Francisco’s saucy past. There’s comedy, romance, and bawdiness around every corner and not a dull moment or dry eye in the house.”

You can get even more of a feel for the making of the show in this awesome potted history. “Kat Robichaud’s Misfit Cabaret was founded in 2015 by Kat Robichaud and Jordan Nathan. Kat and Jordan co-produce. Misfit Cabaret started in a secret speakeasy in the SOMA district of SF, and has since grown into the 500 seat Alcazar Theater in the heart of San Francisco’s theater district. Misfit Cabaret has also run quarterly shows in Seattle for two years at Hale’s Palladium and recently debuted in LA at The Hayworth (Dynasty Typewriter). Since 2015, Misfit Cabaret has created 11 original shows, each with a unique theme. For each new show, Kat writes 2-3 original songs that coincide with the theme of the evening, but can exist outside of the show as theatrical rock and roll. Misfit Cabaret has a rotating cast of eccentric performers. Our usual roster consists of live music, drag, burlesque, aerial, puppets, circus, and vaudeville.”

The splendiferous Misfit Cabaret has also done shows inspired by cult movies, horror favorites, and wild women. So there really is something for everyone, even those who aren’t already living in their ugly holiday jumpers.
