Year after year, the Met GalaOpens in a new tab is the biggest night in fashion. The annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City has also become a chance for celebrities to essentially cosplay by wearing over-the-top haute couture outfits.
This year, the theme was “Notes on Camp.” And by camp, we’re taking John Waters and RuPaul’s Drag RaceOpens in a new tab, not tents and wilderness. And while some of the attendees did not get the memo on what the theme was, there was enough amazing and out-there fashion on display to bring the house down. And here are some of our favorite examples.
As one of the campiest entertainersOpens in a new tab of the past decade, Lady Gaga knew she had to bring it this year, and bring it she did. She revealed four looks on the runway, and started the night off right.
