See How a McDonald’s Big Mac Is Assembled

It’s best not to know how the sausageOpens in a new tab is made. Not if you want to continue eating sausage. That’s probably also true for a lot of our favorite fast foods. But seeing how they are assembled sure is enjoyable, because this video of a Big Mac being put together is strangely hypnotic. And also appetizing.

On his TikTok page moon_man14Opens in a new tab (which we first saw at DiggOpens in a new tab), a McDonald’sOpens in a new tab employee named Isaac has been sharing behind-the-counter videos of how specific menu items are put together. His most recent one shows him arranging a Big Mac and all its toppings. It’s a tight operation that is unexpectedly calming to watch. It makes perfect sense, even if it seems counterintuitive initially. However, it probably wouldn’t be as peaceful to watch if Isaac worked at his normal speed. He says he slowed down for the video.

The fast food chain’s signature, multi-layered burger isn’t the only item that follows a specific procedure. Which means that tray of pre-cooked burger patties gets quite a workout.

Weird, but awesome, right?

These routine are also how McDonald’s puts the “fast” in fast food.

Non-beef options also follow their own path from the kitchen to your tray. From frying up frozen Chicken McNuggets to assembling a Filet-O-Fish, ever food is a process.

We don’t want to know what goes into a fast food beef patty. We like watching it be assembled, though.
