Matthew Lillard Says Mr. Charles Is a ‘Kingmaker’ in DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN

Daredevil: Born Again season two will bring us back to NYC six months after Wilson Fisk put the city under martial law. His ongoing fight against vigilantes has the Anti-Vigilante Task Force running rampant in the streets, which isn’t a great thing for our boy Daredevil. This season will introduce some new players in this game of chess, including Matthew Lillard’s very mysterious Mr. Charles. It’s pretty clear that he will be some sort of antagonistic force, but how he fits into the picture remains to be seen.

Matthew Lillard opened up to us Mr. Charles. “You can expect a character who is not impressed by power,” he said. “He is a guy who is sort of a kingmaker himself. Whatever’s happening in this universe, he’s not impressed by, which is very fun when you’re sitting across from the likes of [Kingpin actor Vincent D’onofrio]. That’s really fun.”

Lillard is having quite the year already after popping up in Scream 7 and even launching a Ghostface vodka. He plays the bad guy oh so well, so this is gonna be a good time.

Mr. Charles’ nonchalant approach to what’s going on around him will certainly make him a threat. While Wilson Fisk is known to have some, errmmm, violent outbursts, it is the more chill guys that are even deadlier. If he comes off as nonthreatening physically, that means he has the brains and perhaps some hired muscle or connections to make things happen. We will find out why Mr. Charles doesn’t care about power when Daredevil: Born Again hits Disney+ on March 24.
