MARVEL’S WOLVERINE Game Finally Has a Release Date

It’s been almost five years since Insomniac Games announced they were creating a new game based around Marvel Comics’ premiere mutant hero, Wolverine. And the wait has been long. We got a sneak peek at the gameplay last year in a video, and then we got our first look at the official art back in September. And now, at last, we have a release date. Thanks to a social media post, we know now that Marvel’s Wolverine officially launches on PS5 on September 15. Yes, that means that Marvel’s Wolverine will arrive just a few weeks before GTA VI. That Logan, he sure likes to live dangerously. You can see in the brief announcement video below.

Marvel’s Wolverine is one of gaming’s most anticipated 2026 releases. After the massive success of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, people were equally excited to see what they did with Marvel’s other most iconic superhero (sorry, Iron Man). The gameplay trailer was visceral and very bloody, showing Logan cutting down soldiers and cyborgs alike with his adamantium claws. We see him in his civilian clothes (his favorite flannel, jeans, and cowboy hat look) and also his X-Men costume. Looking a lot like the one Hugh Jackman finally wore on screen after two decades. Wolvie also hacks his way through enemies like Omega Red and Mystique from the look of things.

And here’s the official synopsis for Marvel’s Wolverine:

Become a living weapon. As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.

We don’t have a new trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine to accompany the release date, sadly. However, Insomniac has promised we’d get more details in the next few months. Many fans think that Rockstar might delay GTA VI yet again, which would give Marvel’s Wolverine a bit more breathing room. As it stands, right now it would only have two months before it arrives. A lot of other developers and publishers are steering clear of GTA VI, but you know Wolverine. He’s pretty fearless.
