Virtual Makeup Collection Lets You Dazzle During Video Calls

Thanks to this year’s massive uptick in video conferencing, everyone and their avatar has had to get used to online meetings. But while the meetings are often glitchy, drab, and—let’s be honest—dull, that does not mean you have to be! In fact, you can bring out the color and dazzle your colleagues now with L’Oréal virtual makeup. And yes, “virtual makeup” basically just means Snapchat filters, but they’re fabulous ones!

Futurism picked up on L’Oréal’s new virtual makeup line, recently unveiled by the French personal care corporation. According to a product page, this is L’Oréal’s first line of “virtual makeup products,” which the company says “embraces our new digital lifestyles and creates looks that can only be achieved online, unlocking a whole new experience of modern makeup.”

The virtual makeup line, which you can download off the product page, consists of three themes and 10 products. The products, which L’Oréal shows in the video above, are filters that add lipsticks, eye shadows, and eyelash glitter. The “Glossy Plump Lips,” for example, does indeed give a “wearer” the appearance of having thicc, shiny kissers. And, of course, the products track a wearer’s face.

In regards to logistics, the product line is free to download, although people will need to use it in conjunction with Snapchat’s Snapcam software or Google Duo if they want to use it for video conference calls. People can also use it directly on Snapchat or Instagram.

For anyone who somehow thinks these virtual makeup products are too, perhaps, Zoolander-ish, there are, of course, tons of other facial filters out there from which to choose. For example, all of the ones available from Snapchat. You can also turn your face into a very realistic zombie mug with this tool; which doesn’t itself work for video conferencing, but really should.
