Lil Nas X Storms Area 51 in OLD TOWN ROAD Music Video

Perhaps one of the most bizarre yet hilarious memes to arise in recent years is the FacebookOpens in a new tab events meme. Perhaps more bizarre than the events themselves is the recent coverage one event garnered. Or perhaps the fact that musician Lil Nas X made a meme-ified music video about it (we first saw via PolygonOpens in a new tab).

The natural response of those wanting to “see them aliens”Opens in a new tab to this recent news coverage was to..well, make more memes of it.

Lil Nas X, the artist behind “Old Town Road,” decided to hop on the bandwagon of Area 51 memes. His latest remix music video, animaed by Somehoodlum, features him and others storming the supposed Alien camp. Considering how much Lil Nas X loves and participates in meme cultureOpens in a new tab, this isn’t that surprising. The artist isn’t afraid to poke fun at himselfOpens in a new tab, and we’re glad he’s blending his own jokes in with this meme phenomenon.

Now, there’s a lot to unpack here in this video. Besides obviously featuring the storming of Area 51, the music video features many other meme icons.
