Earlier this year, LEGO and Super Mario announced a unique collaboration. Although they kept what would make this partnership unique under wraps. Well, we finally have all the details, and it really is something fans of both brands can get extremely excited about.
This new LEGO Super Mario line will be a truly special creation. It features an interactive LEGO Mario figure that collects coins in real-life game levels, all created with LEGO bricks. Not quite a video game and not exactly a traditional LEGO brick-based set, this is a clever combination of both.
The actual LEGO Mario figure comes with LCD screens in his eyes, mouth, and belly. All there so Mario can display several different instant reactions to movement, color, and action bricks. The Mario figure has speaker that plays iconic sounds and music from the classic video game series as well.
The new products include modular builds, giving fans the ability to create the perfect LEGO level course. They can make builds they’ve always wanted to see Mario in. LEGO Mario is used to collect virtual coins as he runs and jumps from the Start Pipe to the Goal Pole via LEGO bricks, cloud platform, and clashes with the Goomba figure and Bowser Jr. figure.
The LEGO Super Mario Starter Course set will hit your local retailers on August 1, 2020. Fans can pre-order it now. Along with the main set, there will be two Expansion Sets: Piranha Plant Power Slide and Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle. Builders can combine the two sets with the Starter Course, adding even more classic Super Mario characters. The recommended retail price for the LEGO Super Mario Starter Course is $59.99 EUR/USD, while the Piranha Plant Power Slide and Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle Expansion Sets will be priced at $29.99 and $99.99.
