We are beyond ready for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse to come to theaters in June 2027. We’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for the concluding chapter in Miles Morales’ absolutely fantastic animated film adventure since Across the Spider-Verse’s cliffhanger ending in 2023. How will it all end? Well, we will have to wait and see what the Spider gang will do. But, after it is all over, what’s next for Miles? Kevin Feige revealed that he has plans for Miles Morales to make his live-action debut in the MCU after the Spider-Verse trilogy.
During an interview with Watching Hollywood, the big MCU boss revealed that Miles’ story will not end next year. “The good news is, Sony has the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse series, which are very popular and excellent, and Beyond the Spider-Verse is coming out next year,” Feige said. “But yes, we definitely have plans [for a live-action Miles], and I think a live-action Spider-Man movie has this destiny: to add Miles sometime after the Spider-Verse series ends.”
Will Miles Morales Have His Own MCU Movie First? Or Will Miles Make a Cameo in a Peter Parker Spider-Man Film?
Of course, it will probably be a while before we learn more details… or maybe not. San Diego Comic-Con 2026 could reveal more information about the MCU’s future plans for Miles Morales to swing into live-action. It’s not totally clear if Tom Holland’s appearance in Brand New Day will end his era as Peter Parker, or if Miles could make his debut in a future film led by Holland.
What would have really been cool is to get a Miles appearance, even if it’s a post-credits scene, in Brand New Day. It would be such a big shocker for everyone, but there’s already enough of a surprise with Sadie Sink’s character reveal. And yes, we absolutely want to see Miles in his own MCU movie because he deserves that.
Nerdist’s Take: Who Could Play a Live-Action Miles Morales in the MCU?
Who could play Miles? Maybe the MCU could get another Miles on the job. Black-ish alum Miles Brown, who is Afro-Latino like Morales, would be a great choice. He’s turning 22 in December 2026, and wouldn’t necessarily be too old for the role if this film happens in the next couple of years. Actors who look young for their age like Miles often tend to play teens.
While many would love to see Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin in the role, it makes more sense to cast an Afro-Latino person considering Miles’ is half Black and half Puerto Rican. His cultural identity is a major part of his story and shapes him as a character.
Caleb is a great actor, obviously, and very athletic, and if he was cast, a lot of Stranger Things fans would show up to the theaters. Similarly, Cobra Kai’s Dallas Dupree Young does not identify as Afro-Latino but he does have a martial arts background and he honestly has a Miles-ish look.
A few years ago, Jharrel Jerome would have been an excellent choice but he’s approaching 30 years old. It’s not impossible for him to play a teen but it feels less plausible. The studio could also take a swing (ha) and cast an unknown Afro-Latino actor in the role as well. That’s not a bad idea at all because it will allow fans to truly see the actor as the embodiment of Miles. No matter what, we are ready for Miles Morales in the MCU.
