Throughout the six-minute interview, Kermit shares insight about his return to television, working with Seth Rogen, vacationing on Magic Johnson’s yacht, and more. Kimmel even reveals that the famous frog had a short run-in with Kaley Cuoco backstage. “Are you worried that Miss Piggy might see this?” Kimmel jokes, to which Kermit responds, “No, she watches Fallon.”

It’s refreshing to see a truly carefree, fun interview such as this one. The two spit jokes back and forth, and the conversation flows very naturally for one shared between a man and a Muppet. You can’t help but crack a smile.

One major talking point of the interview is ABC’s upcoming revival of The Muppet Show. Bringing dazzling guest stars and a brand new wave of Muppet madness, the special airs on Disney+ and ABC this Wednesday, February 4. It features some fabulous guest appearances, including Maya Rudolph, Seth Rogen, and Sabrina Carpenter. Rogen will also executive produce. Kermit tells Kimmel that it wasn’t a challenge to get the crew back together, as there’s “not a big demand for a pig who sings, a bear who tells jokes, and a bunch of dancing rats.” Lucky for us.

Amid a torrent of negative headlines in the media, Kimmel’s interview with Kermit is a welcome change of pace. It’s nice to forget the world for a bit and simply enjoy a lighthearted conversation between a Muppet and a talk show host. Plus, it’s always a treat to see Kermit reappear on our screens. The Muppet Show returns to Disney+ and ABC with a brand-new special event on February 4, 2026.
