The Jetsons are coming to live-action in an upcoming movie, and it appears that Jim Carrey could star in it. That’s some pretty wild news that we didn’t see coming our way, but we welcome it. Deadline reports that The Jetsons movie is a Warner Bros. project with Colin Trevorrow possibly directing it. Trevorrow and Joe Epstein could pen the script for it as well. Perhaps this is what became of the news years ago that a live-action sitcom would hit our TV screens.
There are no other details nor major statements out at this time. But for those who aren’t familiar, The Jetsons was a popular animated sitcom that originally ran in the 1960s, then returned in the 1980s with more reruns. It’s about a family living in a high-tech futuristic society in Orbit City.

We assume that this live-action film will have Jim Carrey portraying the family patriarch George Jetson, a hardworking father whose wife Jane and children, teenage Judy and kid Elroy, are driving him nuts with their shenanigans.
Let’s hold tight and see what comes up as more news arises…
