Learn How to Make a Creepy Tree Candle with Netflix’s Spooky DIY Show

From the first time we learned about it we’ve wondered if the universe specifically had us here at Nerdist in mind when it conjured Netflix‘s new series The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell, because it could not possibly be more in our Halloween-loving wheelhouse. It combines the skill and artistry of Martha Stewart Living with the wholesomeness of Addams Family Values, for a hybrid home goods/cooking/arts and crafts show dedicated to making wonderful spooky decor and treats (you can watch the trailer here). As if all of that’s not enough, the series features some of the best and weirdest Henson puppets ever brought to life (from Henson Alternative). All of those elements come together as perfectly as we’d imagine in a helpful and hilarious new do-it-yourself video from the show that teaches us how to make our very own creepy tree candle. This video, put together from clips from the show, offers a quick and easy method of making your very own homemade candle that looks like an amazing prop from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Also, how many tree candles are too many tree candles? It’s a trick question; you can’t have enough. Not only do they look amazing, they’re incredibly practical–both in October to decorate and for the rest of the year to use to make it feel like it’s still Halloween.Like we said, this show is very much our jam, and with everything we’re going to learn how to make from it it will soon be in our actual house, too.
