Since it was announced in November 2017, fans have been eagerly awaiting more news about the Harry Potter universe's version of Pokémon Go, named Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
We've just gotten our first proper look at the gameplay, as well as more info about the narrative of the mobile game in which you play a member of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force (a new task force formed in partnership between the Ministry of Magic and the International Confederation of Wizards) whose role is to discover the cause of the mysterious magical eruptions in the muggle world and hunt down the lost magical beings known as Foundables.
As you can see, it shares format and concept with Pokémon Go as you hunt down magical creatures, but seems to expand on that by also including objects and people, who are all part of a strange phenomenon that the official description teases. "A calamity has befallen the wizarding world, causing artefacts, creatures, people, and even memories to mysteriously appear in the Muggle world. Witches and wizards from across the globe must come together to solve the mystery of The Calamity, overcome the confounding chaotic magic that surrounds these “Foundables,” and return them to their rightful place, keeping them safe from Muggle eyes."

According to the official Wizards Unite website as a member of this elite task force "you will hone lightning fast wand reflexes, an ability to sniff out the faintest whiff of magical disorder from afar, and proficiency in advanced casting of multiple spells." There's no confirmed release date yet, so keep your wands at the ready whilst we wait to discover just when the Statute of Secrecy Task Force will be called to action.
