GHOSTBUSTERS Theme Song Gets a Ska Cover That Makes You Wanna Dance

Spooky season may only technically span October but, for a lot of us, it never truly ends. We carry our Halloween season favorites in our hearts at all times, watching and celebrating chilling favorites all year round. It doesn’t matter to us if Mariah Carey’s defrosted and ready for Christmas or not. And one of those faves we simply never get tired of is the original Ghostbusters. Not only is the movie itself timeless, but its theme song by Ray Parker, Jr. became a spooky season staple. But as much as we love the original Ghostbuster theme song, this ska version from musician/YouTuber JER from his Ska Tune Network also slaps. You can take a listen to it down below:

Listening to this version will surely take many of you back to the ’90s. Ska music first had a moment in the early ’80s with bands like Madness. But its revival in the ’90s was even more massive. Bands like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sublime, and No Doubt all rode the ’90s ska wave to tremendous success. But artists like JER are continuing to keep the ska flame alive in 2025. And the Ghostbusters theme song is not the only ska cover on the Ska Tune Network. In the same wheelhouse, there’s also an excellent version of the Addams Family theme, which you can listen to right here:

But wait! JER of the Ska Tune Network also has a wonderful ska cover of “Grim Grinning Ghosts” from the iconic Disney Parks attraction, the Haunted Mansion. So go ahead and soak in all of these. And keep the spooky season alive for the rest of 2025, while everyone else is blasting Christmas songs.
