Twitter’s Best Reactions to GAME OF THRONES’ Season 8 Premiere

Warning: This post contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Game of Thrones‘ season eight premiere. It also has a lot of funny jokes.

Winter. Is. Here. Game of Thrones is back, and the show kicked off its final season with “Winterfell,” an episode full of dragon rides, sibling squabbles, royal revelations, and a zombie child plastered to his dining room wall. So a pretty normal day in Westeros. It led to a pretty great night on Twitter too. Here are some of the best jokes, memes, and insights to the season premiere from viewers.

Bran’s unsettling staring was a big topic on the night, especially his hilarious “reunion” with Jaime Lannister.

Ned Umber becoming undead decor was not only one of the biggest moments in the episode, but one of the most terrifying in show history, and it’s fun to laugh at something before it haunts us forever.

Cersei’s disappointment over not getting any elephants did lead to us getting a bunch of great jokes.

“Winterfell” also could have been titled “Shadeville,” with all of the side-eying that was going on, especially between Daenerys and Sansa.

Samwell Tarly had a big night too, learning his father and brother were dragon flambéd and telling Jon he’s the rightful heir to the Iron Throne (and therefore shacking up with his hot aunt).

Fortunately, Jon got to ride a dragon before his whole world was upended. However, we mean fortunately for us.

Forget Jon’s new dragon though, this is the only animal we care about.

Know what’s not funny? Not seeing Ghost.
