Gwendoline Christie Predicted GAME OF THRONES’ Ending 2 Years Ago

Over the eighth season of Game of Thrones, viewers have been debating who would end up ruling Westeros in the end. Every name was thrown around, with most people favoring Dany or Jon Snow, with Sansa Stark being the dark horse candidate. But Game of Thrones never gives you anything expected, so when it was revealed that Bran Stark would rule the Six Kingdoms, many fans were like “what???”

But only one cast member of the series predicted this unlikely outcome, over two years ago. When asked during a press junket interview for Extra during season seven just who she thought would rule in the end, Gwendoline Christie made a solid case for Bran Stark. You can watch the clip down below, which Christie herself proudly retweeted:

Christie pretty much spells out her reasons to Extra’s Mario Lopez, who wanted to know who the cast believed would win in the end. But Christie knew exactly what show she’d been starring on all these years, saying  “Don’t you think it’s going to be someone out of left-field, don’t you feel that those seem like the obvious choice? What we know about the show is that it constantly surprises you, so I’m wondering if it might be Bran. Just because we keep seeing the world from his perspective, don’t we. We keep seeing his visions.”

DING DING DING! Brienne of Tarth for the win, ladies and gentlemen.

While a lot of actors in high profile projects are not necessarily fans themselves, clearly Christie was watching each week and paying attention. Certainly her co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau did not share her opinion, thinking it would be someone unexpected, but not Bran Stark. He countered with “The Three-Eyed Raven as the king, huh? No, no it doesn’t make sense.” While many Game of Thrones fans might agree with him, Gwendoline Christie gets all the bragging rights here.
