FORBIDDEN FRUITS Trailer: A Witchy Cult and Its Bloody Basement Adventures

Sometimes, a movie’s premise feels like someone crawled into your brain and crafted a narrative just for you. That’s one of the best feelings in the world. It is akin to a fanfic that you’ve been dreaming of for years, but simply don’t have time to write, coming to life in full force. The trailer for Shudder and IFC’s new horror flick Forbidden Fruits did exactly that for me and many other fans of witchy and twisted tales.

It’s such a fun and intriguing clip full of girl power. And what better day to drop it than on Galentine’s Day? Sure, you can always go out for drinks and apps with your girls. But having a cult that meets in a basement? That’s where the real fun happens.

Here’s a synopsis to go along with the trailer for Forbidden Fruits

Free Eden employee Apple secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours – with fellow fruits Cherry and Fig. But when new hire Pumpkin challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.

This film is written and directed by Meredith Alloway, who penned the script with Lily Houghton. And it boasts a really awesome cast including Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain, and Gabrielle Union.

To make things more fun, there’s a just-for-fun job application that you can fill out to determine where you’d fit in at Free Eden. Are you a hot person, a cult leader, or just down to be a cashier? Either way, you’ve gotta be down for whatever happens. Oh, and maybe you’ll have to be shady to NOT die.
