If there’s one thing that Vin Diesel is gonna do, it is doing his own PR for all things Fast & Furious related. He will hop on Instagram or do an interview and pretty much announce whatever he wants to, production companies be damned. Vin Diesel appeared at the NBCUniversal upfront presentation onstage with Jimmy Fallon and said that there’s a Fast & Furious TV show in development at Peacock.
“For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more,” Diesel said. “They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space that Fallon has mastered. And I had to wait till it was right… It became right when Donna Langley started to oversee it all, because that’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family would be protected in the TV space… The news that I have here today is that Peacock is launching four shows from the Fast and Furious universe.”

According to a Variety report, there are not four Fast & Furious shows that are actively in the works, thankfully. That’s just too much considering that we have a slew of films and the universe continues to become increasingly further removed from its street racing foundations. It is not clear if this TV show would include Dom Toretto, Roman, Letty, or anyone else from the film franchise.
But Vin Diesel said the Fast & Furious show would honor the films. It could be a prequel series or perhaps include them as mentors to a new generation of racers. Or, get this, maybe the show will take place on Mars. At this point, anything is possible and we are (reluctantly) going along for the ride one quarter mile at a time.
