When it comes to ‘90s sitcoms, Family Matters is one of the weirdest ones to exist. It started out as a normal sitcom about Chicago police officer Carl Winslow and his lovely family, which includes his wife Harriet, pretty teen daughter Laura, and not-so-smart son Eddie. They live in a nice single family home and they have a nerdy neighbor, Steve Urkel, who annoys them. By the end, the show became full on sci-fi with Steve Urkel having a completely separate part of himself in the world and all sorts of weird antics. After nine seasons, Family Matters ended in 1998, and now it is getting a retrospective podcast.
According to Variety, the Family Matters podcast will be available through iHeartMedia with its first episode dropping on November 5. Kellie Williams (Laura Winslow) and Telma Hopkins (Aunt Rachel) will be the hosts of Welcome to the Family With Telma and Kellie, which will have guests from the sitcom to discuss favorite episodes, characters, and memorable moments. And, there will be a chance for listeners to send in their questions as well.
You know what? I’d rather have this than some streaming service trying to reboot Family Matters. And I have more than a few questions for the creatives behind the scenes of this show. New episodes of the Family Matters podcast will drop each Wednesday.
