We were fans of Dexter Sol Ansell even before A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms debuted on HBO. How could we not be after seeing how eagerly he shaved his head to play Ser Duncan the Tall’s diminutive squire? His performance as Egg only cemented our admiration for the young actor. But it turns out there are even more reasons to love him than we knew thought. Turns out he also gives amazing presents. He gifted A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘ cast and crew custom LEGO minifigure sets celebrating their shared journey bringing Dunk and Egg to the screen.
Sol Ansell’s official Instagram account shared pictures and a video of the gifts he gave out on set. He gave them to his big co-star Peter Claffey, showrunner Ira Parker, directors Owen Harris and Sarah Adina Smith, and the man who created the beloved duo, author George R.R. Martin.
All of sets feature Dunk and Egg accompanied by one of Dunk’s horses either Thunder or Sweetfoot. Each also includes a custom figure of the person he gave it to. And they even have personalized messages at the bottom. Parker’s gift makes reference to a “pickle” story Sol Ansell told during his first audition.
The pickle story worked. Now it’s memorized in an amazing plaque.

While it must have been incredible for everyone to get their own custom LEGO mini figure, we would pay a whole lot of coin for the set with the George R.R. Martin figure. Look at that little bearded plastic writer. Look. At. It. Considering these came from Little Gems Online, they have a real shot at getting us to pay Lannister prices if they will make them available
Or someone can gift one to us. If you do that we promise we will love you as much as we love both Egg and Dexter Sol Ansell.
