David Bowie’s NO PLAN EP Will Be Released on Beautiful Vinyl

In October 2016, we heard what is officially at the moment the last confirmed set of David Bowie original recordings: The cast album for the Lazarus musical featured cast recordings, but a four-song bonus disc included the title track, as well as “No Plan,” “Killing a Little Time,” and “When I Met You,” which were recorded during the Blackstar album’s sessions.

Those four tracks were released as their own EP, No Plan, on January 8, the day that would have been Bowie’s 70th birthday. That release was digital, but for those who prefer to buy their music in a medium that they can hold in their hands, the EP is getting physical releases, including some very nice vinyl.[brightcove video_id=”4699041800001″ brightcove_account_id=”3653334524001″ brightcove_player_id=”2bfa565b-5412-4cfd-9211-6269880b8a5e”]

For the least patient Bowie fans, the CD edition of No Plan is scheduled to drop on February 24, but for those who prefer records, there are a couple options. A standard edition comes out on April 21, while a limited-edition, dye-cut, white vinyl version that comes with a lithograph is slated for May 26. Both editions feature a laser etching on Side B, with artwork by longtime Bowie collaborator Jonathan Barnbrook.

For fans that wanted Blackstar to be like twelve minutes longer, No Plan is a fun addendum to the record, an album, by the way, that we considered one of the best of 2016. If you’d like to know where it placed, revisit our 2016 album rankings right here.
