Most of the time, news about streaming services in terms of pricing is not good. It usually involves more ads and/or price hikes that make us really miss the days when it was just cable TV and video rentals. Life certainly felt cheaper and maybe a bit easier back then with less streaming bills and not having a zillion things to try to keep up with. But sometimes there’s news that’s worthy of celebration. Crunchyroll is celebrating “Ani-May” by offering an ad-free $1.99/month subscription.
This premium membership sale from Crunchyroll starts May 7. There are two different tiers, with the $1.99 per month one called Crunchyroll Fan and a $2.99/month one that’s Crunchyroll Mega Fan. The lower tier is ad-free for one device streaming at a time and offline viewing while Mega Fan is ad-free with up to 4 devices as well as the ability to watch your favorite anime offline. Considering these tiers are normally $9.99 and $13.99 per month, this is a great deal.
But, like all good things, it will not last. This Crunchyroll Ani-May $1.99/month subscription is only available until May 21 and it is for three months. After that, we assume the rate returns to its norm. This sounds like a good time to get into all the new Spring offerings that Crunchyroll is rolling out.
