In the post-credits scene for Captain America: Brave New World, we see Sam Wilson in the supervillain prison the Raft, visiting the incarcerated Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson). Known as the Leader in Marvel Comics, Sterns sees many scenarios play out in his mind, and can anticipate future events. One of those events is the upcoming Multiversal War that will no doubt take place in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Here’s what Sterns said to Captain America:
All you heroes protecting this world. Do you think you’re the only ones? Do you think this is the only world? We’ll see what happens when you have to protect this place…from the others.

So what are these “other worlds?” Let’s assume that Kevin Feige sticks even remotely close to the comics, in this case, Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars from 2015. That means we’ll see something like the Incursion Event that kicked off that storyline. That Incursion Event took place when Earth-1610 (the Ultimate Universe) tried to eradicate Earth-616 (the classic Marvel Universe) to save itself. Samuel Sterns’ comments to Sam Wilson about other worlds coming suggest the MCU is about to receive the same treatment. But which other Earth/timeline is coming for ours? We have a few guesses.
Earth-1005 (Fox X-Men Earth)

This Earth, which most fans designate as the Fox films X-Men timeline, was last seen in Deadpool & Wolverine. The duo saved it when they stopped Cassandra Nova’s plans to destroy it. Deadpool and his friends are all still there, and presumably, so are the X-Men. At least for now, until Charles Xavier accidentally kills most of his students, as per the film Logan. That event takes place before the events of Logan (set in 2029) but after the finale scene of X-Men: Days of Future Past, which shows us a happy and fully attended Xavier School and all our favorite X-Men alive in 2023.

We’ve speculated before that this is the Earth that Monica Rambeau wound up on after The Marvels. In the post-credits scene in that film, we saw Monica in the med bay of Xavier’s Mansion, along with the Beast (Kelsey Grammer), and her mother, Maria. We think it’s more than possible that this world, designated Earth-1005, attempts to destroy Earth 616 simply to save itself and its billions of inhabitants. This would mean we’d see the classic Fox movie X-Men fighting the Avengers, whoever they may actually be when Doomsday rolls around.
The Fantastic Four Earth
![The Fantastic Four in their bleu and white suits on a stage with their 4 logo behind them](https://legendary-digital-network-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/04052848/The-Fantastic-Four-First-Steps.jpg)
We don’t yet know the designation of the Earth on which the new Fantastic Four resides. But let’s assume it survives the arrival of Galactus and the events of that movie. Would Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) be willing to destroy Earth-616 to save the billions of lives in his world? In the original comics, he was willing to go that far. We wouldn’t be shocked if that’s the case in the movies either. As of now, we only know that the Fantastic Four live on this Earth, but it’s entirely possible it has other superpowered heroes. There might even be a retro-future version of the Avengers there, or even another version of the X-Men. And they might be willing to destroy the Earth of the Sacred Timeline to save their own.
Doctor Doom’s Earth

We have no idea which Earth Dr. Doom is from (yet), but given that he looks just like RDJ’s Tony Stark, it’s safe to assume he is not from Earth-616. If he’s on his own universe/timeline apart from the others we’ve mentioned (which seems likely), he could be the one spearheading an invasion of Earth-616 in an effort to save his own world. Given that the name of the next Avengers film is Avengers: Doomsday, we think there’s a pretty good chance of that. It’s also possible he’s from the same Earth as the Fantastic Four, but that has yet to be determined.
The Spider-Man (Sam Raimi Films) Earth
![How the CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD Post-Credits Scene Sets Up AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY_1](https://legendary-digital-network-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/28084340/Tobey-Maguires-Spider-Man-slinging-his-organic-webs.-James-Cameron-pushed-the-Spider-Man-organic-web-idea-far..jpeg)
This Earth is the least likely to us, but it’s one we know is out there. The Sam Raimi Spider-Man Earth only has the one superhero on it, as far as we know, and that’s Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire). He certainly didn’t seem to know anything about any Avengers when the Earth-616 Spider-Man mentioned them to him. But then again, it’s been a minute since we visited that world, in 2007’s Spider-Man 3. Maybe there are other spider-heroes on that Earth, or versions of Marvel heroes we’ve yet to consider? If there are, maybe they’ll put up a fight to save their universe from extinction. But who knows? It might be a whole new reality we’ve never seen or heard of before. The Multiverse is, after all, infinite.
See the Captain America: Brave New World post-credits scene, and the whole movie I guess, in cinemas now.
