BLADE RUNNER 2099 Drops First Full Trailer at NYCC 2026

The further into the real-world future we go, the further we have to go into the sci-fi future in order to make it cool. We’re already further into the future than the first Blade Runner movie—that was 2019—and aren’t so far away from Blade Runner 2049 for it to be safe. So, why not go 83 years into the future for more in the world of replicants and police spinners? Blade Runner 2099 will premiere on Prime on November 25, and at this weekend’s New York Comic Con, cast and showrunners premiered a new trailer. Check it out below.

Stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, as well as Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, Matthew Needham alongside showrunner/creator/executive producer Silka Luisa and executive producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson took the stage for a compelling conversation diving deeper into the futuristic world of Blade Runner. The trailer highlights the continuing future noir world the characters inhabit as well as the plight of both replicants and humans.

Fifty years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, Los Angeles has been reborn, just not by humanity. Cora (Schafer), a fugitive in a final bid to stop running, takes on one last identity: a Blade Runner. Forced to partner with Olwen (Yeoh), a Replicant days from dying, she hunts down a runaway hiding a truth that could collapse a fragile city.

One of the more interesting aspects of the trailer is the idea that replicants, who’ve always wanted more life after their allotted “retirement” date, believe without this imposed expiration, they could be as gods. A different character says “‘More Human Than Human’ isn’t a slogan, it’s a curse.” That of course, in addition to a White Zombie song, is also the slogan for the Tyrell Corporation in the first film. Quite interesting.

All eight episodes of Blade Runner 2099 will drop November 25, 2026 on Prime Video.
