BLACK ADAM Showcases Justice Society Action in Second Trailer

At Comic-Con in San Diego this past July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson arrived on the scene like an ancient Egyptian deity, as he “flew” into Hall H in full Black Adam regalia. He debuted the official trailer for Black Adam, showcasing not just his character in action, but also the big screen Justice Society of America. Well, Johnson has now debuted the latest trailer for Black Adam. And it gives us even more story details for his first ever solo film.

You can watch the new trailer right here:

Also debuting this week is the new Black Adam poster. It showcases not only our titular anti-hero, but also all the members of the JSA. This includes Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell). With only four members, this seems like more of a “Justice Club” than a “ Justice Society.” But DC fans have waited years to see these characters in live-action in a film. So we’ll take a smaller group if it finally means we get a cinematic version of DC’s first-ever super team.

According to Johnson, Black Adam is going to “change the hierarchy of the DC Universe.” We’re not even sure what the current hierarchy for the DCEU even is, so we’re going to take The Rock’s word for it. In the film, as in the comics, Adam’s life began thousands of years ago as the slave, Teth Adam. But the wizard Shazam (yes, that Shazam) granted him the powers of a god. He went a little more aggressive with them than young Billy Batson would in the 21st century. Now, here’s hoping these two get to duke it out soon. We want to see that fight more than “Black Adam vs. Superman” any old day.

Black Adam arrives in theaters on October 21, 2022.
