In Fabric – Kanopy

A24

One of the best things about Kanopy is the fact that it holds A24’s sprawling catalog of arthouse gems. From The Lighthouse to Midsommar there are plenty of lauded flicks to pick from but this month we’re highlighting this lesser-seen masterpiece of the weird. Berberian Sound System and Duke of Burgundy director Peter Strickland is behind this stunning horror. Marianne Jean-Baptiste stars as a lonely woman who falls in love with a beautiful red dress that hides a dangerous and dark secret.

I Am Not Your Negro – Hoopla

Amazon Studios

If you still haven’t watch Raoul Peck’s stunning documentary that aims to complete James Baldwin’s unfinished novel there’s never been a better time. “Originally planned as a revolutionary account of the work, lives, and assassinations of his friends Malcolm X, Medgar Evers, and Martin Luther King Jr, Baldwin died before he could finish, but this doc from Raoul Peck—narrated by Samuel L. Jackson—uses letters and writing by Baldwin to create something truly unique.”
