Look, we’re all home way more than we used to be. Practicing physical distancing is the current norm, and if nothing else, it’s giving us an opportunity to catch up on our watch, read, and play lists. And with so many studios making theatrical films available digitally ahead of schedule, you have plenty of binging ahead. Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the films available for digital purchase right now, and so we asked the voice of Sonic himself, Ben Schwartz, what he’s been doing while he’s at home.
Okay, not exactly what he’s been doing. That’s very personal. We specifically asked what he’s been watching, reading, and playing to unwind—the ultimate Ben Schwartz quarantine and chill guide. He emailed us his answers:
Chrono Trigger
Square Enix
“I replayed this from beginning to end. It’s still incredible and one of the greatest games of all time.”
Mario Kart 8
Nintendo
“What is more fun than being in a room with a bunch of friends saying, ‘I’m using tilt controls!’ before racing?”

The Time Machine Did It
“One of John Swartzwelder’s Detective novels that has made me laugh out loud many times.”
Watchmen
DC Comics
“Started this graphic novel again because the TV show was so good. I had to buy a new copy because one of my friends stole mine years ago.”
The Taking of Pelham One Two Three
Palomar Pictures
“I have been watching a lot of older movies that I never saw growing up and this one from 1974 was just amazing. The way the film juggles action and comedy is incredible. I’m trying to watch as many classics that I missed as I can.”
The Producers
Embassy Pictures
“I’ve been rewatching Mel Brooks to keep me laughing and realized I had never seen the original Producers all the way through. So good.”
Disney films
“Been putting on some animated Disney and Pixar films at night to calm the head and make me smile.”
Curb Your Enthusiasm
HBO
“For some reason I had never seen this show before, so I started at season 10 and am making my way backwards to make it feel like everyone is traveling backwards through time. This show is unbelievably funny and every funny person in the world makes an appearance.”
The Simpsons
Fox
“Watching old Simpsons episodes will calm the nerves.”
The Larry Sanders Show
Columbia/Sony
“If you haven’t seen this show, now is the time. It is a masterpiece and Garry [Shandling] is a legend of legends.”
Sonic The Hedgehog is available for digital purchase now and arrives to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and for rental on demand or disc May 19.
