The journey for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender to Paramount+ was a long and winding one. The project was first announced way back in 2021 and took a while to make its way to completion, even by animated standards. It was supposed to go to theaters worldwide and then made a switch to a limited theater engagement and Paramount+ streaming release… and the whole thing was leaked online. Very wild behavior. Nevertheless, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender came to streaming and got mostly good reviews, and you can own the 4K UHD Steelbook.
It is currently available for pre-order, and will not be released until February 9, 2027. Therefore, there aren’t many details about what special features and other perks will come with this physical release. Surely there will be some special artwork, maybe some behind-the-scenes content creation video, and perhaps some interviews with the film’s expansive voice cast. But if you are a fan of the Avatar franchise and want to make sure that Paramount+ won’t take this film away suddenly, then this is the right purchase for you.
