The 2023 Academy Awards have doled out all the year’s prizes. And, as always, it was a mixed bag at the Oscars when it came to its winners. Joyfully, one of our favorite movies of the year, Everything Everywhere All at Once, took home many of the awards it was nominated for, seven to be exact. And that includes the Academy’s biggest prize, Best Picture. We also loved seeing Michelle Yeoh receive a very well-earned statue for Best Actress and Ke Huy Quan’s win for Best Supporting Actor.
RRR‘s “Naatu Naatu” Original Song win, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio‘s Animated Feature Film victory, and Ruth Carter’s second win as Black Panther‘s costume designer also delighted us. But we were saddened that Angela Bassett’s powerful and heart-breaking performance as Queen Ramonda went unrecognized yet again. A win for Bassett at the Oscars would have been truly deserved.
Alongside these winners, a slew of other awards were handed out at the 2023 Oscars. You can check out the whole lineup below.
