28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE Trailer Promises a Cutthroat Sequel

After years of dormancy, the 28 Days Later franchise revived the Infected with 28 Years Later, a sequel that was gory, truly chilling, and packed with surprising amount of emotional depth. Before that film even hit theaters, another sequel was already in the works to release in 2026. Now, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’s trailer is here and it looks like it could be another horror movie favorite. 

This clip continues to expand the world set up in 28 Years Later and truly shows us what we’ve always known. The living are always infinitely worse than the dead, even when the dead are sprinting and snarling zombies. According to a synopsis that accompanied the trailer, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple will follow Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes), who finds himself in a shocking new relationship with consequences that could change the world as they know it.”

And, Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) and his jumpsuit sporting gang becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. It is going to be quite the thrill ride, indeed. And I am personally excited about Nia DaCosta being behind the camera for this round.

In a world where we often have to wait many years for a film sequel or another season of a show, it is beyond delightful to know that this isn’t the case here. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple will sprint into theaters on January 16, 2026.
