First Trailer for THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 Shows So Many Mandos

The first footage people saw of The Mandalorian season three heading to Disney+ was at Star Wars Celebration. That didn’t end up online officially, so we who weren’t in attendance have had to wait with eager anticipation. Thankfully, D23 Expo 2022 delivered us some season three goodness. During the Lucasfilm presentation, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Jon Favreau, as well as every member of the cast, unveiled the first official trailer for The Mandalorian season three. Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and young Grogu have a lot of peril and adventure in their future, plus some Mandalorian political intrigue. Our favorite! Take a look.

The trailer begins with the Armorer (Emily Swallow) chastising Din for taking off his helmet, even as she says he and Grogu are a clan of two. Later we see Bo Katan (Katee Sackhoff), who says the “cult” of helmet-keeper-onners fractured the Mandalorian people. We then see oh-so-many Mandalorians of different armor styles and colors as there appears to be the beginning of some kind of civil war in season three of The Mandalorian. If you remember, in season two, Din won the Darksaber in combat with Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), thus making him the leader of the Mandalorian people. Bo Katan is not pleased about this.

We see a few other familiar faces in The Mandalorian season three trailer, including Carl Weathers as Greef Carga, who seems to have really moved up in the galaxy. Amy Sedaris returns as Peli Motto, who gives Mando and his new Naboo starfighter an R2 unit. Among many Mandalorians on some kind of raid, we see Bo Katan meeting Grogu. She says, with her helmet on, that he must have thought his father was the only Mandalorian. Doesn’t bode well for the future, does it? Oh, and there’s a tree full of Salacious B. Crumbs. Maybe Salacious C. Crumb, Salacious D. Crumb, Salacious E. Crumb, etc.

Though we don’t have an exact release date, the trailer ends saying The Mandalorian season three will stream in 2023. On Disney+ obviously.
