Have you heard of Nike’s Air Max 90 “Bacon” sneakers? The pink-and-brown shoes mimic the aesthetic of the popular breakfast food. They’re pretty neat looking, and they’re reprising a similar pair released back in 2004. The shoes go on sale today, but if you’re not content with your footwear simply looking like bacon, now it can smell like it, too.
Oscar Mayer is launching bacon-scented shoelaces to accompany the release of the Air Max Bacons. The beloved company, known for their iconic hot dogs, are giving away the laces as part of a sweepstakes. You can enter by tweeting #OscarCookMyKicks and #Sweepstakes. You can see the full list of qualifications and rules here.
Happy #AirMaxDay. To celebrate the re-release of the Air Max Bacons, we're dropping bacon scented laces that'll make your kicks sizzle. Tweet #OscarCookMyKicks and #Sweepstakes for the chance to cop 'em 🔥🔥🔥 Rules: https://t.co/wlbBFMTsmO pic.twitter.com/k93Uqy2M7A

The best part? You don’t need to own a pair of the Air Max Bacons to enter. Obviously, they’d look (and smell) great on those kicks, but they’re here to spruce up any pair of sneakers. Or boots. Or whatever other shoes you use laces for. (My smelly old Doc Martens could certainly use a bacon-scented air freshener to bring them back to life.)

The bacon-scented shoelaces also physically resemble bacon. They’ve got fake white fat splashes against a pinkish crinkly backdrop. Because why not go the extra mile? If your shoes are going to smell like bacon, they might as well look like you’ve physically laced a couple of strips of meat into them.
“There are few things better than the delicious smell of freshly cooked Oscar Mayer Bacon, but you shouldn’t have to turn on the stove to fill your nostrils with the heavenly scent,” said Megan Lang, associate director of Oscar Mayer, in a press release. “We know bacon lovers can’t get enough of it, so we’ve created these bacon-scented laces to give fans the chance to carry their bacon love everywhere, whether they’re styling the hottest new sneakers or sizzling up an old pair of shoes.”
Another bonus? According to HypeBeast, the shoelaces are scented with real Oscar Mayer Hardwood Smoked Bacon. How’s that for authentic?
