Thanks to current coronavirus quarantine, lots of companies are offering their product for free. The latest of these is Sony Interactive Entertainment. They have come up with an incentive for PlayStation 4 owners to have yet one more reason to stay at home during this pandemic. From April 15th through May 5, they are giving away several games to fans. The three games of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey. Both PS4 games will be free to download for all who want them, and will be free for players to keep forever. Both were previously available as bonuses through PlayStation Plus.

All of this is a part of Sony’s recent announcement of a Play At Home initiative. They describe it as a way to “help keep the PlayStation community entertained at home” during the COVID-19 quarantine. Part of this initiative will also be a $10 million fund to help smaller independent game studios. These smaller developers are currently experiencing financial hardships due to the pandemic. A pretty great thing to for such a big company to do. PS4 players well know the indie titles are what make the store more robust and diverse. And there’s never a bad reason to play the Uncharted games.
Sony Interactive Entertainment
The president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, announced the Play At Home program via the PlayStation Blog. “During these days of physical distancing, fans have turned to gaming for moments of respite and enjoyment,” Ryan said in a statement. “At Sony Interactive Entertainment, we are privileged to bring this much-needed entertainment. We know this is just one small step and we are thankful to be able to offer this support to our players, our communities, and our partners.”
No word yet which other PS4 games they will release during this play at home initiative; we would be shocked if these two were the last. So while the Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland might be sadly delayed yet again, at least fans of The Nathan Drake Collection have this to look forward to.
