Some Redditors and Tumblr users are exceptionally talented at making strong cases for even the most ridiculous sounding ideas. Theories are certainly swirling around The Last JediOpens in a new tab and its characters, so when we sat down with the cast, we asked John BoyegaOpens in a new tab, Daisy RidleyOpens in a new tab, Andy SerkisOpens in a new tab, and Oscar IsaacOpens in a new tab about the weirdest things they’ve heard about their characters.

The character with the highest numbers of theories right now is possibly Supreme Leader SnokeOpens in a new tab. Everyone has an idea about his background and history and who or what he could be connected to. Serkis says the wildest one he’s heard is that Snoke is descended from Salacious B. Crumb, a.k.a. Jabba the Hutt’s laughing Kowakian monkey-lizard in Return of the Jedi. It’s one of those theories that is so bizarre you know Serkis didn’t make it up. He’s seen it somewhere. I’m scared to look, but there are probably Reddit threads devoted to proving it.
