Disney’s Christopher RobinOpens in a new tab will arrive in theaters on August 3. Ewan McGregorOpens in a new tab‘s Christopher Robin (yes, it is perfect casting, isn’t it?) will reunite with his best friend from childhood, that silly old bear known as Winnie-the-Pooh.
Adult Christopher is trying to reconnect with his imagination, and Pooh is more than willing to help his pal remember all the hours they spent going on adventures together in the Hundred Acre Wood. This premise is so pure I can barely handle it. I dissolved into tears when I watched the first trailerOpens in a new tab because everything about this movie looks delightful.
Pooh bear! I want to hug him and hand over all the honey in my possession to make sure he’s well fed. Pooh’s precious appearance is of course enhanced by the voice performance of Jim CummingsOpens in a new tab, but merely looking at pictures of Pooh (and his buddies!) is completely uplifting. I saved a folder of Christopher Robin images on my computer to have an instant burst of joy on hand to brighten a frustrating day, and I can’t be the only one who has heart eyes over seeing Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and more in action.
