Zach Braff and Donald Faison’s SCRUBS Podcast Has Arrived

It’s been nearly 10 years since Scrubs went off the air. The medical dramedy kept fans in stitches as they followed the life and times of doctors J.D., Turk, and their co-workers at Sacred Heart Hospital. Now, fans can relive the series all over again with Fake Doctor, Real Friends With Zach + Donald. What is this? It’s a Scrubs podcast featuring Zach Braff and Donald Faison, who portrayed J.D. and Turk. Entertainment Weekly revealed that the podcast’s first episode hit iHeartRadio on March 31 and will soon be available on other podcast platforms.

Braff’s February tweet gauging interest in a Scrubs re-watch with Faison sparked a ton of interest so it’s nice to see it all come together so fast. It’s not suprising considering that many people are at home with a little (or a lot of extra time on their hands).

Fake Doctor, Real Friends With Zach + Donald will feature the Scrubs co-stars talking about every single episode (yes, even Season 9) with plenty of fun stories and insider information. Braff told Entertainment Weekly that it will be similar to what fans would expect from DVD commentary. In fact, the first episode features Braff talking how he got the news about his casting while working in a Beverly Hills restaurant.

The podcast will also include guests from the show’s cast and crew, specifically Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence, and fans will be able to call in and ask questions about the series.

Thankfully, Scrubs is currently available to stream in its entirety on Hulu. This means that fans can watch each episode prior to the podcast release and have some refreshed context for the podcast conversation. And a re-watch might spark some new questions for Zach and Donald to discuss on the show.

Fake Doctor, Real Friends With Zach + Donald sounds like a great way for Scrubs fans to get through this age of social distancing and staying home to stay safe.
