Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brought a number of twists and turns to the MCU. And the key to the exploration of the many multiverses? America Chavez. Xochitl Gomez plays the teen who can jump through portals to other universes. The Scarlet Witch covets those powers, and Doctor Strange has to work to stop Wanda and keep America safe. Xochitl Gomez’s introduction to the MCU was a stunner, and in a wholesome exclusive clip from the upcoming home release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we can see Gomez settle into that MCU set life.
The Doctor Strange sequel is by no means Gomez’s first time acting. Many know her from The Baby-Sitters Club. But Dawn doesn’t leap off buildings and travel through the multiverse. Here, Gomez does wire work and as many stunts as she can. She displays a lot of enthusiasm in this video, and it is so charming.
The most endearing part of this clip from the “Introducing America Chavez” feature? The card she makes for Benedict Wong’s, a.k.a. the Sorcerer Supreme, birthday. Wong explains that Gomez spent some time on set trying to teach him dances for TikTok. In fact, we see Gomez dancing with a few cast members. She clearly brought some positive energy to the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness set. I especially like seeing her and Elizabeth Olsen goofing around. It’s fun to imagine that happening between takes of Scarlet Witch wanting to kill America for her powers.
You can see the rest of the “Introducing America Chavez” feature and more behind-the-scenes fun in the movie’s home release. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will arrive on Digital June 22 and 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD July 26.
