Watch X-MEN ’97 Actors Do Their Best Prof. X Impersonation

“To me, my X-Men!” That phrase has been Professor Charles Xavier’s catchphrase since the very first X-Men comic by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in 1963. And it became even more famous when the Professor X of X-Men: The Animated Series shouted out those lines back in the ’90s on Saturday mornings. So, as a fun way to promote the upcoming second season of X-Men ’97, Marvel Television gathered several cast members at the show’s recent premiere at the Tribeca Festival and had them give their characters’ versions of Xavier’s calling card line. You can watch it in a social media post below:

Carl Dodd, the iconic voice of Wolverine, gave his best Logan-ized read of Xavier’s line. Next, Zehra Fazal, our new Emma Frost/White Queen, delivers the classic catchphrase in a properly seductive way. Adrian Hough, who plays Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, says it with a German accent. Quite fitting for our favorite fuzzy elf. Holly Chou gives us a bubbly Jubilee version, and she sounds ready for a trip to the mall food court. Isaac Robinson-Smith delivers a tough guy “soldier from the future” version, perfect for his character, Lucas Bishop. Morph actor J.P. Karliak does it rather glibly, perfectly befitting his character.

Last but not least, Lenore Zann, the voice of Rogue, says “To me, my X-Men” with her famous Southern drawl, and of course, using the word “sugah.” Sadly, the actors who portray Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Magneto, and Storm were not available to give us their versions. We would have loved to hear Alison Sealy-Smith’s version of Storm deliver the line as if she were in a version of Othello. Oh, and no Gambit either. But those of us who cried through season one of X-Men ’97 know why the Cajun mutant wasn’t there. Maybe Gambit walks off the whole being dead thing by season three. X-Men do tend to do that.

X-Men ’97 season two drops on Disney+ on July 1.
