The official trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is here. And it… doesn’t really tell us much about the plot. But it does remind us that this sequel will feature incredible fashion, curving sneers, scathing put-downs, beautiful locations, and many, many catfights. And do we really need to know more than that? Well, The Devil Wears Prada 2 trailer does feature one more important thing. But it’s something we kind of already knew about The Devil Wears Prada 2… Meryl Streep’s return as the devilish Miranda Priestly is going to be nothing short of iconic. Streep absolutely steals every second of the spotlight from a pretty powerful cast. And we love that for her and for us. You can watch The Devil Wears Prada 2‘s trailer below.
The official synopsis for The Devil Wears Prada 2 shares, “Almost 20 years after making their iconic turn as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel—Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to the fashionable streets of New York City and the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2006 phenomenon that defined a generation.” And much like this new trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, the synopsis doesn’t really offer much illumination. Though one thing we do learn is that Hathaway’s Andy is returning to runway as a Features Editor. A very important position in any magazine.
For now, Streep’s Miranda doesn’t seem to remember Andy… Or anything. Is this situational amensia or just shade? We guess we’ll have to wait and see. Either way, we’re here to watch anything Meryl Streep wants to give us when it comes to The Devil Wears Prada 2. We’re equally glad to see Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. In the past, reports indicated a bit more about the story of the movie, sharing that The Devil Wears Prada 2 might revolve around Miranda Priestly and the magazine navigating the “decline of traditional magazine publishing.” And perhaps only Andy has the money necessary to lend a hand. We guess we’ll see if the next The Devil Wears Prada 2 trailer reflects any of this. For now we’ll just have to enjoy Meryl Streep being epic on our screens without much context.
